Primary Ways of Keeping in Touch
Alternative forms of communication have become more popular all over the world, but a phone call remains the primary way of keeping in touch with family and friends. Japan is the only exception with texting becoming just as important as a phone call.
Text Messaging
Text messaging has become very much the norm across the globe. In fact, text messaging occurs least often in the US among the countries interviewed!
Getting the News
Television is the primary source for keeping up with news and current events. The internet is the secondary source in all of the regions tested, except for Japan where it is the primary source for this information (see Japan’s chart below).
